How Many Cockroaches Exist in the World?

Estimating the total number of cockroaches in the world is challenging, but experts believe there are trillions of them. Cockroaches have been around for over 300 million years, adapting to various environments across the globe. Scientists have identified over 4,500 species, with the German cockroach, American cockroach, and Oriental cockroach being the most common household pests.
Cockroaches thrive in warm, humid conditions and reproduce rapidly, making them one of the most resilient insects. Their populations are especially dense in urban areas, where food and shelter are abundant. Despite being pests, cockroaches play a crucial role in ecosystems by decomposing organic matter and recycling nutrients.
